Farmaggedon

The husband was telling me about this film. They were looking for a copy of it and I asked why. He told me this is a documentary about how farmers were harassed so as not to produce locally produced veggies. Here is the synopsis of the docu based on my research.

There is a lot going on in “Farmageddon,” Kristin Canty’s anxiety-laden documentary about government oversight of our farming and food production. Part consumer-rights advocacy, part abuse-of-power exposé, the film dances between the two as if uncertain where to settle. But though neither thread is as fully developed as we might want, Ms. Canty’s main concern — that agribusiness is employing government agencies to harass small, independent farmers — comes through loud and clear. nytimes.com

I have to say that this movie has turned my lifestyle into a 360 spin. This was a movie that was recommended by a friend and when I watched it, it gave me the motivation that for a long time now I have been looking. For a person with an autoimmune disease and have been under steriods for ten years, I see myself in Joe Cross, the man who did the documentary. He too has a disease and have been taking a lot of medicine. One day he decided to ‘reboot’ his system. He went on a juice fast for sixty days. After the fasting, he lose a lot of weight plus eradicated his medication. Don’t you love that? Me, I do. So after watching the movie (which I asked the husband to watch too plus his housemate/friend) I decided I would do it also. Though not that drastic. I thought it would be hard but it’s not. Starting is hard but when you set your heart on it, you will have the will power. I am feeling great and I am losing weight also. I can’t wait to see my result when I go to my doctor. Hopefully he too can see the changes and would little by little lower my medicine.

The Chalet Girl

I was browsing around when I came by a post that talks about the Chalet girl. It stars Ed Westwick and since I am a bit intrigued by him I decided to watch it. And I also love the plot. Chalet Girl is a feel good movie. Actually it’s an ordinary story of a boy meets girl but the mom of the boy does not want the girl because she is a chalet girl and they are a rich family. The girl traveled all the way to Austria to work at the vacation house of the boy’s family. While working she tried to train for snow boarding. She’s a champion skater but because she lost her mom she decided to quit. One of the things that I love about this movie is her relationship with her dad. And watching it under the 10 degrees weather makes me shiver :) If you want to smile and feel good, watch it!

New Year’s Eve

I have seen the trailer of the New Year’s Eve movie a lot of times. Aside from the fact that it was a star studded movie with the likes of Bon Jovi appearing, I also like it’s sound track — Raise your Glass by Pink. This movie is like Valentine’s Day but I think a better version. Well, it’s already showing but unfortunately until today we have not watched the movie. Oh well, I just wait for the copy.

Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow

I was trying to look for some movies to watch to put me into a happy mood so I got our 1 terra and browse at its content. I decided to watch Smallville Season 8. I was not much of a fan of this series. I don’t know why. But I did not expect that my view would change when I saw, Olive Queen aka Green Arrow, Justin Hartley in real life. It was love at first sight. lol! :)

No Strings Attached

This movie is a mushy kind of movie. And I have to say, if I don’t like Ashton Kutcher in Spread, this has been a redemption of sort for him. It’s a nice movie about Adam (Kutcher) and Emma (Natalie Portman), who first met as a teenager. As they grow up they cross path until that time when Adam got drunk and end up in Emma’s pad. This started their casual s3x relationship. Emma was adamant that they keep their thing as a no string attached. As time goes by, Adam realized that he cared for Emma and wanted to change the course of their relationship. I love the scene where Adam kept on repeating the I LOVE YOU phrase to Emma. But she really was not ready to be serious so they called it quits. They have not seen each other until the wedding of Emma’s sister where Emma realized that she is inlove with Adam. Well, unfortunately the call to Adam did not turned out as plan. Fate made a way for them to meet again. I love the line of Adam’s father..you do not choose who you fall in love with. This is such a nice feel good movie :)

Dolphin’s Tale

Yesterday, we went to the movie house and I saw some good upcoming movies. I always look for inspirational flick with less dramas and heartache. I don’t really want to cry over a movie because it affects me a lot. One of the movie that I am looking forward to watch is Dolphin’s Tale. Based on the trailer, it’s a story of a dolphin that does not have a tail. There was a family who have taken care of it and did almost everything to make it swim again. According to wiki, the movie is about a young boy befriends Winter, an injured bottlenose dolphin who lost her tail in a crab trap, and motivates everyone around him to help save the dolphin by creating a prosthetic appendage to replace the dolphin’s missing tail. Harry Connick Jr. plays a vet who rescues the mammal and brings her to the marine hospital he runs. Ashley Judd plays the boy’s mother while Morgan Freeman is a doctor who creates a prosthetic limb for Winter.

Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen — four characters that I have religiously followed when I was in college. I remember making sure I go home before the scheduled timeslot so that I won’t be missing any episode. But my eagerness for the series have dwindled down after the first two seasons because Joey and Dawson started having some problems and Joey have started liking Pacey. Oh, I don’t like those kinds of situation. haha. So, yes, I was not able to finish the whole six season of it. I am not sure if this time I would be able to since my views on changing partners (especially if you are friends with them) has not changed through the years. Well, let’s see.

It’s Sharpay’s time to shine. We have been seeing the advertisement of another Disney movie. This time it stars Ashely Tisdale of High School Musical.

Synopsis of the movie :

I am NUMBER Four

A mommy friend in FACEBOOK shared that she already watched this movie and it’s one of the best movie that she had watched so far. And that made me look for a copy of it and I planned to watch it. Based on the synopsis that I have read via WIKI it’s a science fiction story. It’s based on a novel which became a bestseller. I think my daughter would love it.

Here is just a briefer.
