MY SURVIVAL
Sometimes when God test us, we readily say ‘God, why me ?’. This has been the question i kept on asking when I have been suffering with LUPUS.
Many people will draw a blank look when I say I am sick with LUPUS. Lupus is not aS popular as CANCER and I thank god that it is not as dreadful as the BIG C. But it has its own pain like any other disease. Sometimes much painful.
Before I was inflicted with it I was a girl ready to concur the corporate world. I am starting to build my way up and have very much wanted to climb the corporate ladder.
Yet god has different plans for me. As I was on the process of working my way up, searching what career can lead me to greatness, I started to lose weight. My knees and joints have started to weaken. I got fever and rashes all over. Soon my hair started falling. My trip to the hospital have increased, from 0 to countless visits. I have to beg off and took long leave because I cannot afford to walk or sit without pain. My body have mirrored the body of 80 year old lady.
For three years, I was on deep darkness. I was always sad and depressed. And not sure of my future.
I was ready to give up but someone is not. That someone is my 1st boyfriend who is now my husband. He did not give up on me no matter how hard and high the waves that we have to endure.
I thought the pain would endless until 2005 came.
My life have yet again experienced another drastic turn of events. Quite pleasant turn of events.
My lupus have stopped plaguing my body. I gain my normal body again. And with the lessons I learned from LUPUS I jump into another stage of my life. I got married. I marry the man who have love me unconditional although I was a bit apprehensive that I am capable of bearing a child.
During the course of our marriage..God have erased that apprehension. He gave us the opportunity to become parents.Although it is an HIGH RISK pregnancy I was able to give birth without any major complications.
Now I am learing the ropes of motherhood and continously THANKING GOD.
And spreading the word that there will ALWAYS be a CALM after the STORM.
LUPUS and ME
My BRIEF LUPUS STORY is online @ www.lupus.ph
It all started with some joint pains. And then I had fever and then I am unable to sit, stand and walk normally. Before that happens, I spend my summer vacation under the beaches of Quezon, soaking in the water under the heat of the sun. I also got a lot of stress from work and although it still is not proven I am a have DIET COKE drinker (remember, the ASPARTAME reports?).
Although LUPUS is incurable it can be controlled and LUPUS patients can be put into remission with minimal medication just like ME! I have been diagnosed with LUPUS, had lung operation due to pleurisy, got pulmonary embolism after the operation, found out to have cyst in the ovary. Not to mention countless blows to my career.
But here I am telling my story and living the dream God has granted me. I am now married (although my husband is working in Kuwait and only comes home twice a year) and a mother to an every growing baby (who thanks to God, never suffered neonatal LUPUS).
This blog showcases my trials and triumphs against LUPUS. Allow me to share those stories with you.
