Okay before I start this entry let me just quote THEDAILYMEME :
First off, technically most of the sites here are not memes. The fact that most of these sites create new questions all the time removes the whole evolving viral concept of a meme. But most people call them that and I liked the word ‘meme’ so I used meme.
So for the lack of words, I am going to use MEME for those weekly questions that I answer from my fave sites. While I’ll used TAG to those which are viral and have the same content. I love MEMEs but I am a bit cautious with TAGS. I am doing TAGS to show my appreciation to whoever TAG me. But I do MEMEs because it keeps me thinking and most often that not helps me overcome writers block. Most of the MEMEs I joined have interesting questions which challenge an intellectual mind. And also MEMEs are one way to increase traffic legally. lol!
Here are my favorite MEMEs, thanks to THEDAILYMEME for coming up with the list of this meme.
SUNDAY
UNCONSCIOUS MUTTERINGS - each Sunday, ten words are posted and players will have to answer with the first word that comes into their mind.
MONDAY
MANIC MONDAY - just three questions to keep your mind thinking.
TUESDAY
HeadsorTails - this is a different meme wherein everyweek its different. Sometimes its HEAD (wherein you can do anything ), HEADSorTAILS (samething with heads) or its TAIL (wherein you do what is stated. This is on my top spot for my fave meme. Not only did it squeeze out the creative mind out of me, the participants also are active. Meaning they all drop to the participants blog and comment.
TENS on TUESDAY - list of ten every Tuesday.
WEDNESDAY
Wordless Wednesday - you post a picture to your own liking. Actually you can be wordless all week round but i chose to be wordless every Wednesday.
THURSDAY
Booking Through Thursday - book related questions
FRIDAY
Friday’s Feast -questions under Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Main Course and Dessert. Though at first it might seem about food, the questions have something to do with yourself.
Friday Fill-Ins - fun and easy fill in the blank meme.
SATURDAY
SATURDAY NINE - nine silly questions with a theme.
SATURDAY SPECIAL - four quick questions every week.
This memes will surely attract visitors to your site. You can increase the percentage of having hits by bloghopping through the participants and commenting. And make sure also to reciprocate the visit of those who left comment to your blog. It would be rude not to. Because most us participate in memes to have visitors to our site. If you would asked me what’s my personal favorite among the memes I have mentioned, it would be Heads or Tails because its squeezed out the creative juices in me and the participants there are really active. And one of my picture in WORDLESS was stumbleupon and that gave me 82 hits as of this moment.
But there is a downside to the weekly MEMEs. One which I have observed a lot of times. There are participant who never reciprocated your visits. No matter how many times you have visited them and have left comments. This gave me a feeling that this bloggers are only there for the linkback and gaining hits. I thinks that’s a rude attitude. So my word of advise if you have no intention of paying back the visit don’t join the meme. Or if you wanted to answer the meme, answer it on your blog but don’t leave comments on the blog where the meme is posted.
Despite of this, I still love to do memes and bloghop on the participants because I love to read their answers. I just remember who the ones I visited and never reciprocated. One or twice is okay with me but THRICE, that participant would be blacklisted on my mind and I would never visit the blog again not unless that blogger would be the first one to leave a comment. hehe!

I participate of Manic Monday, Wordless Wednesday and Friday’s Feast, but I also make sure I write my own posts most of the times. I have also started to play the “Silly monkeys stories” on Tuesdays.
I had created a Tuesday meme call “Where were you?” but I had to shut it down after 9 weeks due to poor attendance. I’m planning to start one with my kids (who also blog) called “Soccer Saturdays” (yes, they all must have the same initials as the day) and I would totally recommend you take a look at the “Weekly Winners”, that is hosted by Sarcastic Mom every Sunday. It’s very popular, and a lot of fun!

Great post Milet! I participate in some of those memes and the benefits are twofold
(1) I get ideas on what to write
(2) I get traffic to my site.
