The Promise

Luis is the first ‘apo’ on our side. Right now he is the only boy in the group. He kept on praying that someday one of us would bear a son. That’s for my sister and me.

Luis is on the 5th grade right now. A consistent honor student since first grade. He knows that I as a student have been collecting medals, so in a way he is being challenged by that thought. Luis has been close to me since I have been with them all his life until I got married. He alway look up to my husband since hubby have been teaching him a lot, from arnis to cars to life.

He will be graduating next school year. One time while shopping he saw a PSP. I know he wanted one but due to financial constraints, his parents cannot afford one. And being his tita who spoil him to death, I told him that I’ll buy him a PSP once he graduated elementary. Now, he can no longer get the PSP out of his mind.

But last Monday, our agreement has changed. I have encountered a problem with my NEO laptop and so I asked my brother to accompany me to go to Megamall. He agreed and LUIS and BUMA came along too! The kids have a blast again. Anyway, while having my laptop check we saw a brochure of a new NEO laptop. This one is designed for kids.

When I saw that laptop I knew Luis will like it. So, I told him that I will no longer buy the PSP but rather I’ll buy that laptop for him if he graduated elementary and pass the entrance exam in Marikina Science and Technology (MSAT). Actually that is already his target school. He wanted to try Philippine Science High School but its far from home. So he settled for MSAT. And I think this laptop would be enough encouragement for him.

Although I am not a NEO fan, but the picture would be enough for him. And that  would be two years from now, who knows what would technology offer, right ? But my promise will hold because I know that this will be a way for him to strive harder. Its not pressuring him but assuring him that we believe in his capability to succeed. I have been his age one time and a promise of having a Php 500 if I got the top spot in class is enough for me. Sa kanya nga laptop eh! lol!

Sosyal ang Tita!

anyhow, by that time na makatapos sya ng elementary, siguro aabot na sa pinas yong mga lap tops na ginawa ng mga computer companies para sa mga estudyante.
