I wrote here that I was currently watching Nodame Cantabile to put me in the mood. This past few days I really am experiencing drastic mood swings and the only thing that can really help is watching quality Asian Dramas. And with that in mind I would really choose Japanese dramas. Jdramas never fail to deliver good stories.
And Nodame Cantabile turned out as a really, really good drama. It reminded me of some dramas I have watched. One is Nodame’s way of getting the love of Chikai is somehow the same as Xiang Qin’s manner towards Zhi Shu in It Started with a Kiss. Also Chikai’s coldness and being a student admired by many reminds me of Jiang Zhi Shu. When either Chikai or Nodame played the piano they are transported into a fields of green which is like the scene in Spring Waltz. But the weirdest thing is when they played the classical music, I kept searching my brain because of the familiarity of the sound. And I really laugh when I remember, its because I always hear those in Playhouse Disney’s Little Einstein. lol!
The drama kept me awake until 4am, yap, because I really wanted to see how it ended. Although there are parts which I don’t like especially the part where the guy brutally throw the girl or he would slap the girl etc. I know its with the culture differences. But I don’t like seeing girls treated that way. That’s one of the difference I see with the dramas made here in the Philippines with other Asian Dramas. But of course, the astounding performance of the orchestra really gets into me. It was so nice seeing them perform with such beautiful synchronization.
I would definitely recommend this drama but like others it would very touching to see Nodame playing the piano while Chikai is conducting. Having to perform at the same stage would be the most rewarding for a girl who have done her best to be at par with the man she loves.
And yeah, I just finished watching Tatta Hitotsu no Koi last night. It’s good but I was not that happy with it.
