My other blog is hosted in BLOGGER. Although there have been a lot of improvement from the very first time I used BLOGGER way back 2004, there are still things that you need to setup unlike in WORDPRESS that almost everything are taken care of the plugins.
One of the few things that I like with wordpress that is missing in BLOGGER is having the RECENT POST, RECENT COMMENTS on the sidebar. And there is also a wordpress plugin which puts RELATED POST in wordpress. So I googled to put all this in my blogger blog. Although not all tips I found work.
For RECENT POST and RECENT COMMENTS, I tried this and this but both did not work. Maybe because my blog was a redirect. From blogspot.com to .com. So I searched some more until I stumble into the site with a tip. I’m sorry I now cannot find which site it is. But for those of you who are interested on how to put recent comments and recent post, just go to your layout, then click the add page element in the side and then choose FEEDS and from their put http://www.yourblog.com/feeds/posts/default in the FEEDS URL. This is also applicable to comments. Just change posts to comments. This will display your 5 most recent post and recent comments.
Moreover, if you want to have a related post in your single post, used this trick. It work on mine despite the redirect. So i think it works on all blogs hosted in blogger.
And if you are thinking of changing your template Mashable and Jackbook has so many beautiful templates that will suit your test. You only need to download the xml file and upload it blogger. That easy!

I just discovered something I think I like better than your “related posts” thing that works quite well for Blogger blogs, and it doesn’t matter if you have it hosted on your own server or on blogspot.
There is something called Live Recommended Reading from Feedjit.com that will recommend posts based on what posts other visitors of the same page have read.
So if “Visitor A” views 3 pages on your site, “Visitor B” will be told to look at those other 2 pages when he visits a page that “Visitor A” look at previously. It figures that if “Visitor A” was attracted to certain pages, then it is likely that anyone attractd to the same pages would have the same taste and enjoy reading the same things.
It learns and adapts to the traffic you get, changing all the time and improving as each page gets more traffic and you get more visitors. Busier blogs will have better results much sooner.
You can customize it with your site’s colors too.
I have it on 2 of my blogs and it is working quite well on the busier one with more traffic. The one with less traffic will need more time…lots more time.
You might want to add it in addition to the Related Posts thing and see what happens.
