dramas of my life

..that’s me. I feel like I am in a lost - lost situation. And it irritates me and it does not help that I know I am at fault for not taking good care of it. Kainis!

Not sure but I think later part of last year I found out that my SONY DCR-HC36 camcorder’s battery is busted. I realized it was my mistake since I did not remove the battery when I kept the camcorder. And then after our Subic trip I tried looking for the installer so that the videos can be transferred to the laptop, I found out that the cd have a lot of scratches and can no longer be read. Anevay have taken a fancy on it one time and used it as a  mop on the floor (ouchie!). I tried using my sister’s installer which was bundled on her phone only to find out that it is only applicable to XP and earlier version (I am using VISTA!).

The hubby have been asking me about it since we planned to sell it, for us to buy a new one, so I called their service center. To tell you the truth I hate calling service centers. You always need to wait before somebody pick up the phone and sometimes or most of the time the person you are talking to lacks the know how. But I don’t have a choice.

It took me 20 minutes to talk to an agent and I was even surprised that a human voice was already talking to me not a recorded one. lol! My first question was where can I get the installer. My thoughts on this was the installer should be given free to a customer who bought the product, right. They should have a place in their site where you can download the software if you can give the serial etc. But no, it was not free. The agent told me that it cost around Php 2k. Ngek! Next question, can it be used on VISTA ? Answer, NO! Loser ! Not sure if I am pertaining to myself or SONY. haha! But an upgrade or fixed is available daw on their website. Then I inquired about the battery. And the statement i got was the battery was already PHASED OUT and they don’t have any available na. LOSER. Again, not sure if its me or SONY.

I wanted to make talak (excuse me for the word ) but I prevented myself. Hello, if ever you declared a part which is being used by a product you sold on the market as END OF SERVICE , you should released a part, an upgraded one which can be used. You cannot give a reason that the product is an old model already kaya wala kayong part. That’s a lame excuse! I remember one time this was an issue raised by a customer when an engineer told them their machines are old models that’s why the parts are out of stock. bwahahaha! napagalitan tuloy ung engineer sa kataas taasan. Kainis!

I know I can only rant but in this case I am waving the white flag because I know its my fault. Hay!

EDIT : I tried using the installer again after removing the dirt that are on its surface and ohlalala! it was read by my laptop. wahahaha! but it did work since naka VISTA nga ako. Now I am downloading the fixed from the website of Sony. Nawa’y makatulong.
