Its been what ? Six birthdays.
Flashback 2001. We went on an overnight swimming with three other girlfriends. Yap. Even if he just got back from being sick he gamely went with us on the day of his birthday. He drove from Libis to Island Cove where we spend half the night by going into the bar. After Island Cove, we went a swimming pool. In the morning, he drove farther to search for the church which I wanted to see. He was sleepy yes but that did not stop him on his search. We were able to find the church and there I stood in the threshold waiting for him so that we can enter the church together and it has dawn me at that time that one of the sign I am asking is right in front of my very eyes. What was the sign ? Well, I told God that my first love should be the person who would bring me to a church. Not a pretentious attempt to show me how religious he was. I havent given any details yet I know in my heart it was the start of something big for me.
And indeed two months later, that man who drove to the church I wanted to see became my first and only love. And four years later, I married that man.
Mushy, isn’t it ? But I have believed in one thing. It was God who have brought us together and is continously binding us inspite of the distance.
Five birthdays in between and here we are. Although we are celebrating his birthday apart we are happy knowing that we are blessed by God.
Need I say more ? He was the reason I came back fighting from LUPUS. I have already given up on my life but he never did. He is the reason why I am still here. With God’s help we were able to stand the test of time.
Now, what I can say is…….
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAHAL! I LOVE YOU! NOTHING COMPARES TO YOU!
