This week have been good for the employees of our company. Me included.
Last Monday, there was an emergency meeting for our division. The meeting was about our salary increase. One that have been demanded by many.
During the meeting, I cannot help but think the phrase ‘too late the hero’.
Why? The increase was long overdue. Many have been complaining about their compensation. Especially those who have left the company to work in the Middle East. It was a pakunswelo to those who have choose to stay or those na walang mapupuntahan. Or are waiting for the offer sheet.
Yes, a lot have resigned from the company. Including my husband who has been with the company for about ten years now. My husband is not that into the salary in fact he was not complaining about it. But a better opportunity came so he grab it.
So, there was the increase. And well, better late than never. Then today there was a division meeting with free breakfast. It was the first division meeting I have attended in my seven years in the company.
During the meeting, there was transparency. The numbers were laid. And i cannot help but think that my husband played a big role in this meeting. Because during his exit interview he said that there should be a meeting that would explain to us the numbers.
Hmmm…Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be waiting for my 13th month pay next week.
So that I can start getting my passport and Anevay’s. I am excited for next year.
